Smith-Midland Corporation (NASDAQ: SMID) is a Delaware-incorporated manufacturer and marketer of precast concrete products and systems serving the construction, highway, utilities, and farming industries across the Mid-Atlantic, Northeastern, Midwestern, and Southeastern regions of the United States. The company operates through six wholly-owned subsidiaries and maintains manufacturing facilities in Midland, Virginia; Reidsville, North Carolina; and Hopkins, South Carolina, totaling approximately 114,000 square feet of production space across 163 acres of owned land.
The company's core business centers on innovative, proprietary precast concrete products including SlenderWall®, a lightweight energy-efficient exterior wall panel system; J-J Hooks® Highway Safety Barrier, a positively-connected crash-tested safety barrier approved by the Federal Highway Administration; Sierra Wall™, a sound and sight barrier for highways and residential applications; Easi-Set® and Easi-Span® transportable precast buildings; and SoftSound™, a proprietary sound-absorptive finish for noise reduction. Additional product lines encompass utility vaults, farm products such as cattleguards, and custom architectural precast concrete products. The company also operates a barrier rental fleet and maintains a licensing program granting manufacturing rights to approximately 70 licensees across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Mexico, and Trinidad.
