The Building Solutions segment manufactures modular buildings, structural wall panels, engineered wood products, and glue-laminated timber through subsidiaries KBS Builders, EdgeBuilder, Glenbrook Building Supply, and Timber Technologies Solutions. These products serve residential, commercial, and industrial construction markets. The Business Services segment, operating as Hudson Talent Solutions, delivers recruitment process outsourcing, contingent workforce solutions, recruitment consulting, and managed service provider services to mid-to-large multinational corporations across eighteen countries in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions. The Energy Services segment, through Alliance Drilling Tools, manufactures and supplies specialized drilling tools and downhole equipment for directional drilling in oil and gas well construction, mining, geothermal, and water well applications. The Investments segment holds corporate-owned real estate assets and investments in publicly traded and private companies.
Star Equity employs approximately 1,200 people worldwide, with roughly 950 employees in Business Services, including approximately 110 in the United States and 840 internationally. The remaining 245 employees work across Building Solutions and Energy Services, all based in the United States. The company serves a diverse client base including mid-to-large multinational corporations, commercial contractors, energy companies, and government agencies. In 2025, the top 25 clients generated approximately 73 percent of revenue, with one client accounting for 23 percent of total revenue.
The company completed a significant merger on August 22, 2025, acquiring Star Operating Companies, Inc., which expanded its operational footprint and business capabilities.
