What Syndax Pharmaceuticals Inc does
In the company’s own words
Syndax Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNDX) is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative cancer therapies. The company operates through the development and commercialization of two FDA-approved medicines and a robust pipeline of clinical development programs designed to expand treatment opportunities across multiple cancer indications and fibrotic diseases.
The company's lead product, Revuforj (revumenib), is a first-in-class oral menin inhibitor approved by the FDA in November 2024 for treating relapsed or refractory acute leukemia with KMT2A translocations in adult and pediatric patients one year and older. In October 2025, Revuforj received a second FDA approval for treating relapsed or refractory AML with susceptible NPM1 mutations. Syndax is advancing multiple clinical trials evaluating revumenib in combination with standard-of-care therapies across the acute leukemia treatment continuum, including in newly diagnosed patients, and is exploring its potential in myelofibrosis treatment.
The company's second approved product, Niktimvo (axatilimab-csfr), is a first-in-class CSF-1R blocking antibody approved in August 2024 for treating chronic graft-versus-host disease after failure of at least two prior lines of systemic therapy in adult and pediatric patients. Syndax is co-commercializing Niktimvo in the United States with collaboration partner Incyte Corporation, which holds exclusive commercialization rights outside the United States. Axatilimab is also in development for newly diagnosed chronic GVHD patients and for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis treatment.
The company maintains a third product candidate, entinostat, an oral small molecule with direct effects on cancer cells and immune regulatory cells. Syndax has deprioritized entinostat development but maintains licensing agreements, including with Eddingpharm for development and commercialization in China and certain Asian countries, where entinostat received marketing approval in April 2024.
Syndax's business model relies on in-licensing intellectual property from partners including Vitae Pharmaceuticals (menin inhibitors), UCB Biopharma (axatilimab), and Bayer Pharma (entinostat). The company does not operate manufacturing facilities and relies on third-party contract manufacturers for production. In November 2024, Syndax entered into a royalty financing agreement with Royalty Pharma, receiving $350 million in upfront funding in exchange for a percentage of future Niktimvo net sales in the United States.
