THOR Industries, Inc. (NYSE: THO) is the world's largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles, headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana. The company operates through its website at www.thorindustries.com and employs approximately 19,500 full-time employees globally, including roughly 11,900 in the United States and 7,600 in Europe.
The company manufactures a comprehensive range of recreational vehicles across North America and Europe, selling primarily through approximately 2,000 independent dealership locations in the U.S. and Canada and approximately 1,100 locations throughout Europe. THOR's business is organized into three reportable segments: North American Towable Recreational Vehicles, North American Motorized Recreational Vehicles, and European Recreational Vehicles, which collectively generated approximately $9.6 billion in net sales.
North American operations include six primary subsidiaries: Airstream, known for premium travel trailers and motorhomes; Jayco, producing conventional travel trailers, fifth wheels and motorhomes; Keystone, manufacturing travel trailers and fifth wheels; KZ, producing conventional travel trailers and fifth wheels; Thor Motor Coach, specializing in Class A, C and B motorhomes; and Tiffin Motorhomes, producing premium diesel and gasoline motorhomes. The North American Towable segment contributed 33.1 percent of revenue, while North American Motorized contributed 25.6 percent.
European operations are conducted through Erwin Hymer Group, which manufactures motorized and towable recreational vehicles across eight production locations under brands including Hymer, Dethleffs, Buerstner, Elddis and others. The European segment accounted for 34.3 percent of revenue. Supply operations through Airxcel and Postle contributed 10.2 percent of revenue.
THOR also operates Airxcel, which manufactures RV-related components and products sold to original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket consumers, and Postle, which produces aluminum extrusions and specialized components. Founded in 1980, THOR has established itself as the industry leader through a portfolio of recognized brands, manufacturing expertise and extensive dealer networks across North America and Europe.
