In the company’s own words
Treace Medical Concepts, Inc. is a medical technology company focused on advancing the surgical treatment of bunions and related midfoot deformities. The company's flagship product is the Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Correction System, a combination of proprietary instruments, implants, and surgical methods designed to correct all three planes of bunion deformity and stabilize the unstable first tarsometatarsal joint. The Lapiplasty System represents a significant advancement over traditional two-dimensional surgical approaches, which historically resulted in recurrence rates as high as 78 percent.
Beyond its core Lapiplasty offering, Treace has developed a comprehensive portfolio of complementary products addressing various bunion classifications and related foot pathologies. These include the Adductoplasty Midfoot Correction System for midfoot deformities, the Nanoplasty and Percuplasty minimally invasive osteotomy systems, the SpeedMTP System for great toe fusions, and the SpeedPlate Rapid Compression Implant platform. The company also offers the IntelliGuide patient-specific instrumentation technology, which uses CT scan data to create three-dimensional preoperative plans and patient-specific cut guides. Additional products include the Hammertoe PEEK Fixation System and various specialized sterile surgical instruments.
The company markets and sells its products in the United States through a direct employee sales force supplemented by independent sales agencies. As of December 31, 2025, Treace maintained a field sales fleet of 297 team members. The company targets approximately 8,000 surgical podiatrists and 2,600 orthopaedic surgeons with foot and ankle specializations in the United States. Treace operates in a market where approximately 1.1 million Americans are annual surgical candidates for bunion procedures, representing a total addressable market opportunity exceeding five billion dollars.
The company differentiates itself through extensive surgeon education and training programs, including simulated surgical workshops and advanced technical training. Treace maintains a robust clinical evidence program with multiple prospective, multicenter post-market studies supporting its products' safety and efficacy. The company's intellectual property portfolio includes 95 granted U.S. patents and 39 granted foreign patents covering core Lapiplasty and Adductoplasty technologies and related innovations.
