In the company’s own words
TScan Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSCN) is a fully integrated clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing T cell receptor-engineered T cell therapies for treating patients with cancer and autoimmune disorders. The company's website is www.tscan.com.
TScan's lead product candidate, TSC-101, targets HA-2 antigen and is in Phase 1 clinical development for treating acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. The company is expanding its hematologic malignancies program with additional TCR-T candidates, TSC-102-A01 and TSC-102-A03, which target CD45 antigen across different HLA types. These candidates are designed to eliminate residual cancer cells and prevent relapse following bone marrow transplantation.
Beyond hematologic malignancies, TScan is developing multiplex TCR-T therapy candidates for solid tumors, targeting antigens including HPV16, MAGE-A4, and PRAME. The company is pursuing an in vivo engineering platform to deliver off-the-shelf TCR-T therapies. Additionally, TScan is leveraging its target discovery platform to identify treatments for T cell-driven autoimmune disorders, with initial focus on ankylosing spondylitis, ulcerative colitis, and scleroderma. The company maintains a research collaboration with Amgen to identify antigens in Crohn's disease patients, under which TScan received a $30 million upfront payment and is eligible for over $500 million in milestone payments.
TScan operates an internal good manufacturing practices facility for producing clinical supply of its TCR-T candidates and has engaged a global contract development and manufacturing organization to support potential commercialization. The company employs a non-viral gene delivery system based on transposons to enable cost-effective and consistent cell manufacturing. TScan's approach utilizes naturally occurring T cell receptors that can recognize both cell surface and intracellular cancer-specific antigens, offering advantages over competing CAR-T and TIL therapies. The company has established over twenty clinical trial sites for its lead program and continues advancing its pipeline through preclinical and clinical development stages.
