What Usio, Inc. does
In the company’s own words
Usio, Inc. (NASDAQ: USIO) operates as a cloud-based fintech payment processor serving multiple industry verticals through a comprehensive, full-stack ecosystem for payment acceptance and funds disbursement. The company's website is located at usio.com.
Founded in 1998, Usio has evolved from an electronic bill presentment and payment provider into a diversified payments platform offering integrated solutions across several core business lines. The company provides payment acceptance services through automated clearing house processing, credit and debit card processing, and payment facilitation capabilities. Usio's ACH services enable merchants and businesses to both disburse and collect funds electronically using e-checks, and the company holds prestigious NACHA certification as a Third-Party Sender, representing one of only nine companies with this designation. The company's card-based services support traditional card-present transactions, card-not-present transactions, and tap-and-pay functionality across major networks including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Through its prepaid and incentive card services division, Usio offers customizable Mastercard-branded prepaid cards for expense management, incentives, refunds, and disbursements. The company's Consumer Choice product provides flexible payment distribution methods including physical and virtual cards, ACH transfers, paper checks, and real-time PINless debit. Usio also operates Output Solutions, which provides electronic bill presentment, document composition and decomposition, printing, and mailing services to utilities, financial institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
In 2025, Usio generated revenues of $85.4 million, with strong organic growth in ACH and complementary services offset by declines in prepaid card services and interest revenues. The company maintains relationships with premier banking institutions including Fifth Third Bank, Sunrise Bank, and TransPecos Bank as sponsors and processors. Recent strategic initiatives include the "Usio One" strategy, designed to unify brand, sales approach, and payment offerings through enhanced client onboarding and consolidated cross-selling efforts. In November 2025, Usio acquired substantially all assets of PostCredit, expanding into the expense management space with technology integrating enterprise resource planning systems.
