What vTv Therapeutics Inc. does
In the company’s own words
vTv Therapeutics Inc. (Nasdaq: TTVT) is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing orally administered therapies for metabolic and inflammatory diseases. The company's website is www.vtvtherapeutics.com.
The company's lead product candidate is cadisegliatin (TTP399), a novel small-molecule liver-selective glucokinase activator currently in Phase 3 clinical development as a potential oral adjunctive therapy to insulin for type 1 diabetes. Cadisegliatin received FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation in 2021 based on positive Phase 2 results demonstrating a 40 percent reduction in severe hypoglycemia and statistically significant improvements in hemoglobin A1c compared to placebo. The Phase 3 CATT1 trial is designed to evaluate cadisegliatin's effect on reducing hypoglycemia frequency in 150 patients with type 1 diabetes, with enrollment expected to complete in the third quarter of 2026. In December 2025, vTv and partner G42 Investments initiated a Phase 2 trial in the Middle East evaluating cadisegliatin in 300 insulin-dependent patients with type 2 diabetes.
Beyond its lead program, vTv maintains a pipeline of earlier-stage candidates including TTP273, an oral small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist that demonstrated statistically significant reductions in hemoglobin A1c in a Phase 2 trial; TTP-RA, a RAGE antagonist in preclinical development for type 1 diabetes prevention; HPP593, a PPAR-delta agonist; and Nrf2/Bach1 modulators targeting oxidative stress and inflammation across multiple disease areas.
The company has established strategic partnerships to advance its pipeline. vTv licensed HPP737, an oral PDE4 inhibitor, to Newsoara BioPharma globally in January 2026, receiving a $20 million upfront payment with potential milestone payments up to $115 million and royalties on future sales. vTv also licensed azeliragon, a RAGE antagonist, to Cantex Pharmaceuticals for worldwide development and commercialization. Additionally, vTv holds a license from Novo Nordisk covering glucokinase activator intellectual property and programs.
In September 2025, vTv completed a private placement raising approximately $80 million in gross proceeds, with investors receiving additional warrants potentially bringing total proceeds to $200 million. The company does not operate manufacturing facilities and relies on third-party manufacturers for clinical supplies and research materials.
