The company leverages its proprietary PREDATOR platform to engineer molecules that selectively activate in the tumor microenvironment, addressing limitations of conventional proinflammatory immune therapies. Werewolf's lead product candidates are WTX-124 and WTX-330, systemically delivered INDUKINE molecules representing conditionally activated Interleukin-2 and Interleukin-12, respectively, for treating multiple tumor types. WTX-124 is currently in Phase 1/1b clinical trials as both a monotherapy and in combination with Merck's pembrolizumab in patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors. This design allows systemic delivery of inactive prodrugs that transform to active therapeutics upon reaching tumors, potentially minimizing systemic toxicity while maximizing antitumor efficacy.
Werewolf has licensed its conditionally activated Interferon alpha molecule, JZP898 (formerly WTX-613), globally to Jazz Pharmaceuticals Ireland Limited. In February 2026, the company initiated a strategic review process to explore alternatives including potential sale, merger, business combination, asset sale, or licensing arrangements to maximize stockholder value.
