Xencor specializes in protein engineering, particularly the design and optimization of Fc domains—the constant regions of antibodies that interact with the immune system. The company's proprietary XmAb technology platform enables the creation of bispecific and multi-specific antibodies with improved properties and novel mechanisms of action. This modular approach allows Xencor to rapidly generate multiple drug candidates incorporating distinct biological functions, including enhanced cytotoxicity, immune inhibition, extended half-life through the Xtend Fc domain, and T-cell engagement capabilities.
The company maintains a portfolio of wholly-owned clinical-stage candidates and partnered programs. Partnered programs include xaluritamig (Amgen), ASP2138 (Astellas), and JNJ-9401 and JNJ-1493 (Johnson & Johnson) in oncology, as well as obexelimab (Zenas), Ultomiris (Alexion), and tobevibart (Vir Biotechnology) across multiple therapeutic areas. Three marketed medicines have been developed using Xencor's XmAb technologies.
