Fund profile
As filed in the prospectus · 2026 Q2
Vanguard Dividend Appreciation Index Fund (the Fund) seeks to track the performance of a benchmark index that measures the investment return of common stocks of companies that have a record of increasing dividends over time.
The fund tracks the S&P U.S. Dividend Growers Index by holding its constituent stocks in the same proportions as the index, selecting U.S. companies with a history of increasing dividends and excluding real estate trusts. Because the fund replicates the index rather than sampling it, its returns will match the index's performance before fees. The fund may become concentrated in particular issuers or industries if the index itself becomes concentrated due to market conditions or index rebalancing.

Share of the fund’s equity (by value) in companies whose trailing five-year revenue — or net-income — growth ranks in the top 25% of U.S. public companies. Foreign and newly-listed holdings are excluded, so the figure covers only part of the book. From SEC filings — not investment advice. How we measure this.
