Lam Research serves leading semiconductor memory, foundry, and integrated device manufacturers that produce non-volatile memory, dynamic random-access memory, and logic devices used in mobile phones, personal computers, cloud and enterprise servers, wearables, automotive vehicles, and data storage devices. The company has built core competencies in nanoscale manufacturing enablement, chemistry, plasma and fluidics, advanced systems engineering, and a broad range of operational disciplines.

The company's product portfolio spans three primary process categories: deposition, etch, and clean. Deposition products include the SABRE family for copper electrochemical deposition, the ALTUS family for tungsten and molybdenum deposition, the VECTOR and Striker families for dielectric films, and the Aether family for dry photoresist processes. Etch products encompass the Kiyo, Akara, Flex, Vantex, Versys Metal, Syndion, and selective etch families including Argos, Prevos, and Selis. Clean products include the EOS, DV-Prime, Da Vinci, SP Series, and Coronus families. The company also addresses back-end wafer-level packaging, complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor image sensors, and micro-electromechanical systems applications.

The Customer Support Business Group provides products and services to maximize installed equipment performance through customer service, spares, upgrades, and the Reliant product line offering refurbished non-leading edge products. Equipment Intelligence solutions and fleet-level optimization programs support customer productivity and cost reduction.

As of August 2026, Lam Research employed approximately 23,300 regular full-time employees, with over 26 percent engaged in research and development. The geographic distribution includes approximately 38 percent in the United States, 56 percent in Asia, and 6 percent in Europe. The company's customer base includes Micron Technology, Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company among other leading semiconductor manufacturers.
