The business

Insmed Incorporated (NASDAQ: INSM) is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapies for patients with serious respiratory, immunological, and rare neurological diseases. The company operates through three primary therapeutic areas: Respiratory, Immunology & Inflammation, and Neuro & Other Rare.

The company's commercial portfolio includes two approved products. ARIKAYCE, approved in the United States, Europe, and Japan, is an inhaled liposomal amikacin formulation for treating nontuberculous mycobacterial lung infections caused by Mycobacterium avium complex in patients with limited treatment alternatives. BRINSUPRI, an oral once-daily treatment for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis in patients aged 12 and older, received FDA approval in August 2025 and European Commission approval in November 2025. The company launched BRINSUPRI in the United States during the third quarter of 2025.

Insmed's clinical pipeline includes several investigational programs. TPIP is an inhaled dry powder formulation of treprostinil palmitil being evaluated for pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease, pulmonary arterial hypertension, progressive pulmonary fibrosis, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. INS1148 is a monoclonal antibody targeting Stem Cell Factor 248 acquired in December 2025 for respiratory and immunological diseases. In the immunology space, brensocatib is in Phase 2b development for hidradenitis suppurativa. The company's neuro and rare disease programs include INS1201, a micro-dystrophin gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and INS1202, an AAV9-based gene therapy for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The company relies on third-party manufacturers for production of its products and candidates, with ARIKAYCE currently manufactured by Resilience Biotechnologies. Insmed maintains a pre-clinical research portfolio encompassing gene therapy, artificial intelligence-driven protein engineering, protein manufacturing, RNA end-joining, and synthetic rescue technologies. The company's strategy emphasizes developing first- and best-in-class therapies addressing serious diseases with significant unmet medical needs while actively evaluating in-licensing and acquisition opportunities to complement internal research and development efforts.
