The company's mission centers on restoring nerve function and quality of life for patients with peripheral nerve injuries through innovative, clinically proven, and economically effective repair solutions for surgeons and healthcare providers.
The company's comprehensive product portfolio includes Avance Nerve Graft, a biologically active off-the-shelf processed human nerve allograft with more than 17 years of clinical evidence and over 120,000 implants since launch. In December 2025, the FDA approved Avance as an acellular nerve scaffold, with commercial availability expected in early second quarter 2026. The portfolio also encompasses the Axoguard product line, including Axoguard Nerve Connector, Axoguard Nerve Protector, Axoguard HA+ Nerve Protector, and Axoguard Nerve Cap, which are manufactured from porcine extracellular matrix material. Additionally, Axogen offers Avive+ Soft Tissue Matrix, a multi-layer amniotic membrane allograft launched in June 2024 for tissue protection and separation during surgical healing.
Axogen operates through a vertically integrated model combining proprietary tissue processing with a direct sales force. The company operates the Axogen Processing Center, a 107,000 square foot facility in Vandalia, Ohio, for Avance Nerve Graft tissue processing and packaging. Avive+ Soft Tissue Matrix processing occurs at a licensed facility in Dayton, Ohio. The Axoguard product line is manufactured by Evergen in West Lafayette, Indiana under supply and distribution agreements.
