What Corvus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. does
In the company’s own words
Corvus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRVS) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing product candidates designed to precisely target proteins critical to immune cell maturation and function. The company's proprietary approach focuses on modulating immune responses to address immune-mediated diseases, inflammatory diseases, and cancers.
The company's lead product candidate, soquelitinib, is a selective, orally bioavailable covalent inhibitor of interleukin 2 inducible T cell kinase (ITK), an enzyme involved in T cell signaling and differentiation. Soquelitinib is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for relapsed peripheral T cell lymphoma and Phase 2 development for atopic dermatitis. The company's second product candidate, ciforadenant, is an oral small molecule antagonist of the A2A receptor for adenosine designed to disable tumors' ability to evade immune system attack. Ciforadenant is being evaluated in a Phase 1b/2 clinical trial for metastatic renal cell carcinoma in combination with immunotherapy agents. The company's third product candidate, mupadolimab, is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD73 intended for cancer and infectious disease treatment.
Corvus Pharmaceuticals operates without its own manufacturing facilities, relying instead on third-party contract manufacturers for production of drug candidates for clinical testing and potential commercialization. This strategy allows the company to maintain efficient infrastructure while focusing expertise on product development. The company holds an extensive patent portfolio covering its product candidates, with issued and pending patents in the United States and foreign jurisdictions including Europe, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and China.
The company's intellectual property strategy includes in-licensed patents and proprietary know-how, particularly through a licensing agreement with Vernalis for adenosine receptor antagonists. Corvus Pharmaceuticals' competitive positioning derives from its scientific and management team experience and the strength of its product candidates targeting novel immune pathways.
