What DUCOMMUN INC does

In the company’s own words

Ducommun Incorporated (NASDAQ: DCO) is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance products and manufacturing solutions for aerospace and defense, industrial, medical, and other specialized applications. The company operates through two primary business segments: Electronic Systems and Structural Systems, which together generated 96% of revenues from aerospace and defense end-use markets in 2025.

The Electronic Systems segment designs, engineers, and manufactures high-reliability electronic and electromechanical products including complex cable assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies, interconnect systems, lightning diversion systems, and sophisticated radar enclosures. The Structural Systems segment produces complex contoured aerostructure components, bonded metal and composite structures, precision profile extrusions, ammunition handling systems, seals, and aerodynamic systems for commercial and military aircraft applications.

Ducommun serves a diverse customer base across multiple platforms and programs. In 2025, Boeing and RTX Corporation were the company's largest customers, representing 13% and 18% of net revenues respectively, with the top ten customers accounting for 61% of total revenues. The company maintains significant operations across multiple facilities and employs approximately 2,130 highly skilled employees as of December 31, 2025, of which 282 are subject to collective bargaining agreements.

The company's business model emphasizes providing value-added solutions and moving up the supply chain to become a more sophisticated supplier to original equipment manufacturers and prime contractors. Ducommun has pursued strategic acquisitions to expand its product offerings and customer base, including the acquisition of BLR Aerospace in April 2023, which added aerodynamic systems capabilities to the Structural Systems segment.

Founded in California in 1849 and reincorporated in Delaware in 1970, Ducommun differentiates itself through technical superiority, continual product improvement, superior lead time, on-time delivery performance, quality, and long-term customer relationships. The company maintains a website at www.ducommun.com and operates as a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ exchange, filing regular reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
