Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq: RMBS) is a semiconductor company that develops memory interface chips, silicon intellectual property (IP) and patented technologies for data-intensive computing, with a focus on data center and AI infrastructure. Its memory interface chipsets support DDR5 and LPDDR5 server and client memory modules, including RDIMMs and MRDIMMs, and include clock drivers, data buffers, power-management circuits, hubs and sensors. Rambus sells these chips to memory module manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers and hyperscalers worldwide. Its silicon IP includes high-speed memory and chip-to-chip interface controllers, PCIe and CXL technologies, and security solutions; chipmakers license these products for integration into custom silicon, standard products and FPGA designs. The company also licenses patents covering memory architecture, high-speed serial links and security to semiconductor and systems companies. Rambus operates through memory interface chips, silicon IP and patent licensing businesses. It follows a fabless manufacturing model, relying on third parties to fabricate, assemble and test its chips. Founded in 1990, Rambus had 791 employees as of December 31, 2025.
