Westlake Corporation (NYSE: WLK) is a vertically integrated global manufacturer and marketer of housing and infrastructure products and performance and essential materials. The company operates through two principal segments: Housing and Infrastructure Products (HIP) and Performance and Essential Materials (PEM).
The HIP segment manufactures residential and non-residential building products including PVC siding, trim, mouldings, architectural stone veneer, windows, roofing, and outdoor living products. The segment also produces PVC pipe and fittings for water, sewer, electrical and industrial applications, as well as compounds made from PVC and other polymers. Notable brands include Royal Siding, Cultured Stone, Eldorado Stone, DaVinci Roofscapes, and Zuri Premium Decking. The HIP segment operates 53 manufacturing facilities primarily in North America and 11 additional facilities across North America, Europe and Asia for compounds production.
The PEM segment produces ethylene, polyethylene, chlor-alkali products (chlorine and caustic soda), vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chlorinated derivatives, and epoxy resins. These materials serve diverse end-markets including packaging, automotive, healthcare, wind energy, and coatings. The company maintains approximately 39.2 billion pounds per year of aggregate production capacity across numerous manufacturing sites in North America, Europe and Asia.
Westlake began operations in 1986 and has grown through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, including Axiall Corporation in 2016, Boral Limited's North American building products businesses in 2021, and Hexion's global epoxy business in 2022. In 2014, the company formed Westlake Chemical Partners LP, a publicly traded partnership that operates ethylene production facilities and related assets.
As of December 31, 2025, Westlake employed approximately 14,600 people across 18 countries, with roughly 68 percent based in the United States. The company maintains a highly integrated materials production chain, producing most of the ethylene and chlorine required for downstream operations, which provides cost advantages and supply security.
