Fund profile
As filed in the prospectus · 2026 Q2
The Fund seeks long-term growth of principal and income.
The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of medium-to-large companies that Dodge & Cox believes are temporarily undervalued but have favorable long-term profit growth prospects, emphasizing financial strength, cash flow, competitive advantage, and management quality alongside valuation. The fund maintains at least 80% in equity securities, with up to 20% in non-U.S. issuers outside the S&P 500 and no more than 5% in non-U.S. dollar-denominated securities. It may use derivatives including options, swaps, and futures to create or hedge equity exposure. Because security selection depends on the manager's assessment of individual companies' undervaluation and growth prospects, fund performance will diverge from any benchmark.

The outer band is exposure held short — written against the portfolio rather than part of it, which is why it sits outside the ring and why the two are never netted into one figure.
Derivatives are shown at market value, not notional exposure.

Return profile
Total return as filed — price change plus distributions reinvested · trailing figures to Apr 2026
| Share class | 1-year | 3-year | 5-year | Vol | Worst fall |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| +17.77% | +54.11% | +58.22% | 9.99% | -8.18% | |
| +17.90% | +54.84% | — | 10.02% | -8.14% |
These classes hold the same portfolio, so the 0.73pp spread over 3 years is the cost difference between them — roughly 0.24pp a year — not a difference in what they own.
May 2026 and Jun 2026 have been filed since the trailing figures were struck, so they are not in the table above or the curve — every figure here shares one cut-off, which is what makes them comparable with other funds.
