Fund profile

As filed in the prospectus · 2026 Q2

The First Trust BuyWrite Income ETFs (the Fund ) primary investment objective is to provide current income. The Fund's secondary investment objective is to provide capital appreciation.

Strategy · summarised

The fund invests primarily in U.S. equity securities selected for higher dividend yields, while simultaneously writing call options on the S&P 500 Index to generate monthly premium income; the notional value of written calls ranges from 25% to 75% of fund assets. In exchange for option premiums, the fund forgoes upside participation in the S&P 500 above each call's strike price. The written calls are uncovered—the fund does not own the index itself—though individual stock holdings in the portfolio provide partial hedge protection.
