The State Street SPDR S&P 400 Mid Cap Growth ETF (the Fund) seeks to provide investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the total return performance of an index that tracks the performance of medium capitalization exchange traded U.S. equity securities exhibiting growth characteristics.
The fund tracks the S&P MidCap 400 Growth Index, which selects mid-cap U.S. stocks exhibiting the strongest growth characteristics based on sales growth, earnings momentum, and price momentum, then weights them by market capitalization. The fund employs a sampling strategy and may hold a subset of index securities or substantially all of them, depending on asset size and market conditions. Because the fund samples rather than holds all index constituents, its returns may diverge from the index.
