The First Trust NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index Fund (the Fund ) seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield (before the Funds fees and expenses) of an equity index called the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index (the Index ).
The fund tracks the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index, an equal-weighted benchmark of 30 biotechnology companies selected and rebalanced quarterly based on net sales, the ratio of sales to R&D spending, and R&D spending growth, with a cap of 6 holdings in biotech tools and diagnostics. The fund holds all index constituents and will experience higher portfolio turnover due to quarterly reconstitution. Because the index is reconstituted quarterly, the fund's holdings and weightings will shift accordingly.
