The Parnassus Core Equity Funds objective is to achieve both capital appreciation and current income.
The fund invests primarily in large-capitalization U.S. equity securities that pay or are expected to pay dividends, selected through a value-oriented process that screens for companies trading below estimated intrinsic value, with sustainable business practices and strong fundamentals. At least 65% of assets are held in dividend-paying stocks, while the remainder may include non-dividend-paying equities and cash. The fund may also invest in foreign securities. Because the fund's holdings depend on the adviser's assessments of intrinsic value and future dividend capacity, which may prove incorrect, performance will diverge from broad market returns.

How it has done
PRBLX share class · total returns with dividends reinvested
Volatility over the last 12 months: 13.37%. Past returns are a record, not a forecast.
Jun 2026 has been filed since the trailing figures were struck, so it is not in the table above or the curve — every figure here shares one cut-off, which is what makes them comparable with other funds.
The 2 share classes hold the same portfolio
| Share class | Expense ratio | 1 year | 3 years | 5 years | Worst fall |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.81% | +15.42% | +28.05% | +28.10% | -7.55% | |
| 0.61% | +15.64% | +28.61% | +28.67% | -7.51% |
These classes hold the same portfolio, so the 0.57pp spread over 5 years is the cost difference between them — roughly 0.11pp a year — not a difference in what they own.
