The iShares U.S. Technology ETF (the Fund ) seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of U.S. equities in the technology sector.
The fund tracks the Russell 1000 Technology RIC 22.5/45 Capped Index using representative sampling, holding a sample of technology sector securities with similar characteristics to the index rather than all constituents. The capping methodology constrains any single issuer to a maximum 22.5% weight and limits aggregate weight of issuers exceeding 4.5% to 45% at quarterly rebalance, though market movements between rebalances may cause weights to exceed these caps. Because the fund samples rather than holds all index securities, its returns may diverge from the index.
